Topic > Heroic: Odysseus and Emmeline Parkhurst - 1040

Does the world we live in have heroes? In the society we surrender to, the hero becomes a hero by achieving what he believes in to surpass others. A hero has always been seen in the perspective of a role model. A hero becomes known to many for what he has done and his heroic qualities. An epic hero is the protagonist and the hero becomes a legend due to heroic actions towards his nation, race or culture. Odysseus is considered "larger than life", he is respected and loved by many. Ulysses left such a mark on this world that he was seen by the people as an epic hero. Emmeline Pankhurst fought for many women and attracted the admiration of many people. He fights for what he believes in and in the face of adversity. Odysseus fought for the Greeks and brought them victory. Furthermore, Emmeline fights for the female race and what she believes in, even though she faces many tragic and emotional obstacles, her strong will and determination for women's rights has not stopped. The difference between Odysseus and Emmeline, Odysseus uses violence to bring about what he and his nation believe in and in the times of the ancient Greeks most conflicts were resolved with violence, although Emmeline used speeches to prove her point and created a women's suffrage for its state in which women are also human beings with equal rights to men. Emmeline Pankhurst can be considered an epic heroine. Like Odysseus, Emmeline fights for the rights of the female race, she also faces many obstacles but overcomes them due to her importance. Both Ulysses and Emmeline Pankhurst are considered larger than life. In the Odyssey poem, when Odysseus went to Circe, she did not enchant him because the gods protected him, which shows his importance, he has the... center of paper... antry and loyalty to his country and his family. Like Emmeline, she sacrificed the time she would have spent with her children and instead went to protest and started a women's suffrage organization. She gave up her freedom to prove that women deserve the right to vote. During the long journey Ulysses had to face many obstacles: the Cyclopes, Circe and many others, but he did not give up. Emmeline Pankhurst is one of the most important people in history, she will always be remembered, her place in this world will always be remembered and respected.
