THE HISTORY OF NINTENDONintendo Company, Ltd is headquartered in Kyoto, Japan. They are recognized as the "world leader in creating interactive entertainment" (Nintendo, 2002, PG). Some of the world's best-selling video games come from the Nintendo Company, including the Game Boy and Nintendo 64. In America, Nintendo is headquartered in Redmond, Washington. Interestingly, in American households, almost 40% own a Nintendo product. The last product launched by Nintendo was the Game Cube, a video game console that will undoubtedly prove to be another bestseller. SWOT ANALYSIS FOR NINTENDO Strengths: One of the major strengths of Nintendo is the very sensitive human resources issues. Nintendo recently hired a company, Xylo, Inc., "to provide Nintendo employees with a private online network of work-life products and services designed to help them balance the responsibilities of work and home" (Business Wire, 2000, PG ). Nintendo recognizes that employees are a company's most important asset and, like many Japanese companies, is committed to ensuring that employees are as comfortable and loyal as possible. As a company strives to seek employee comfort and happiness, this normally makes for a very loyal and hard-working employee. Another great strength of Nintendo when undertaking a leadership personality analysis, the behavioral traits, attitudes and perceptions show that they are usually never too quick to judge nor are they very critical of the work of others . Instead of seeking perfection in others as is sought in leaders, Nintendo management is normally less judgmental of others and works to motivate them rather than criticize them. Good point that... middle of paper.. ....beautiful what it has. This is an organization that will last a long time with a loyal and knowledgeable staff.REFERENCESAnonymous (1996, February).
