A teacher who truly wants to help must first get all their homophobic tendencies under control and make sure they don't affect the way they interact with their student. This can be done by punishing homophobic behavior whenever it is witnessed or reported. Additionally, as a teacher, just being someone available to talk to can help LGBTQ students. If the teacher wants to make changes throughout the school and not just in the classroom, these are options. One is supporting or creating a program specifically designed to help keep LGBTQ students safe. The other option is to suggest that all teachers take training to help them better understand how to handle situations involving LGBTQ students. Administrators can create and enforce policies that seek to stop all anti-gay actions against all students. They have the power to make anti-homophobia learning compulsory for everyone who works in the school. Although parents can also do their part by questioning their homophobia and their children must be respected by everyone even if they seem so
