Fear of crime among immigrants A crime is an act against the law. Even if police systems and prisons justify an illegal act being committed, crime continues to occur every day and every minute. People commit crimes for reasons such as relationship problems, jealousy, anger, and money. Those against the wave of immigrants believe that immigrants cause an increase in the crime rate in the United States. On the contrary, those in favor of immigrants believe that they instead reduce the crime rate in the United States. I believe that immigrants do not increase the rate of crime in the United States The United States because they fear crime. It is clear that people prefer to live in a safe place rather than an unsafe place. This causes more immigrants to come to New York because it is seen as a haven. In New York, immigrants are known to reduce crime rates. Many people believe that immigrants contribute to increased crime rates in the United States. But if they look at the statistics of many places in the United States, they will find evidence contrary to their opinions. Anti-immigrants argue that immigrants increase crime rates because they know that some immigrants are criminals. However, this statement is partial because the entire population is accused of such acts against a small part of immigrants involved in criminal activities. Many people choose to leave their country for their families. It is claimed that adding people will help create conditions that lead to crime. However, the influx of immigrants does not automatically cause an increase in the crime rate in the United States. Immigrants actually make their communities safer. “Police statistics show that Sunset Park is much safer than it was 20 years ago. Homicides have decreased by more than 90%. The crime rate has... middle of paper... m to increase the crime rate. Instead of being criminals, it would be better for immigrants to do everything the right way. Works Cited Chapman, Steve.
