RESEARCH METHODOLOGY RESEARCH PLAN: The methodology used for data collection was the questionnaire and interview method with technical personnel. However, top managers were also interviewed for further clarification. Therefore, the analysis was carried out based on the Questionnaire and Interview method. SAMPLING METHODOLOGY: Sampling Technique: Initially, a draft was prepared keeping in mind the objective of the research. A pilot study was conducted to know the accuracy of the questionnaire. The final questionnaire arrived only after some important changes had been made. Therefore my sampling proved to be judgmental and continental. Secondary data was also collected from various sources such as Internet, books, articles, etc. Sampling Unit: The respondents who were asked to fill questionnaires and whose interviews were conducted are the sampling units. These include Loco Pilots, Gangman, Trackman etc., who have attended the training conducted by the HR of Indian Railways. Sample size: 30 technical staff and all Lucknow staff. Need to use secondary data:1. The data is useful in collecting primary data.2. They constitute one of the cheapest and simplest means of accessing information.3. Secondary data can actually provide enough information to solve the problem under investigation.4. Secondary data can be a valuable source of new ideas that can later be explored through primary research. Limitations of secondary data:1. It may be obsolete.2. No control over data collection.3. They may not be reported in the required form.4. They may not be reported in the required form.5. It may not be very accurate.6. Collection for other purposes. There is already a commitment to using HR and IT appropriately in the organization. Funding has increased this year and is not expected to be a major constraint in the future. Therefore the organizational drive should be to ensure that human and technological resources are allocated wisely, in a planned manner, that the vision is realized and pursued.
