Topic > Job from the Bible - 1022

God comes to confront Job and asks him many questions, one of them being: “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you understand. (Second Catholic edition Job 38-4). In a sense, God mocks Job by asking him where he was on the day God created the world. God is asking Job if he can understand it because Job is just a moral while God is eternal. Job cannot understand everything the way God does and God tells him so. Job does not need to understand God to have faith in Him. Job only needs to believe in the goodness and faith in his heart and rely on the fact that God has a plan for him. If Job does not sin and lives a good life of faith, God will make sure that Job's life goes well
