The art of reinvention is constantly present throughout pop culture. You see it in the reinvention of Miley Cyrus who moves away from the wholesome good girl image to become a provocative and trashy and controversial girl. Hollywood and celebrities constantly reinvent themselves; sometimes it's for the best, like wanting to clean up your image after a horrible accident. On the other hand it could mean moving away from the person they are seen as and wanting to be seen as someone completely different. In F. Scott Fitzgerald's superb novel The Great Gatsby, Jay Gatsby, the main character, is so fixated on reinventing himself.
