Topic > Kids and civilization in William Golding's Lord...
It's just a fact. Without consequences they will collapse. This was also demonstrated by a CBS television show made “a group of boys aged 8 to 15 were challenged to build a company in the New Mexico desert in 40 days. The boys failed, and the experiment was widely criticized for its dangerous conditions. Psychologists predicted that conditions could worsen if adults did not supervise the show” (Psychologist compares 'Nation' to 'Flies). Golding's point was not wrong. He wants us to know that there is a reason for authority and rules and that we should not ignore his book after it has been proven in reality.
