It wouldn't be a surprise if I started this essay by telling you that as a child I spent most of my time drawing and loving it. It's something that most of us start to love when we are little, our appreciation for art begins when we are most curious and ignorant about our surroundings. As a child I spent most of my time drawing cartoon characters and anomalous shapes that just seemed fun and original to me. As time goes by, only a few of us maintain this kind of appreciation for art, and for some of us it diversifies into something else. After fifth grade, I forgot how to draw; however, I am becoming more and more interested in video editing. During my seventh grade years, I began practicing video editing using video game footage with the help of some online friends. A video website called Vimeo is used by many video editors from different regions, ready to express their own editing style. I was mainly motivated by them, not by any particular editor, but they all had their own way of making their videos, their use of visual effects, soundtrack and sound effects, everything made me feel like I was part of the video Yes. This led me to want to improve my video editing skills, constantly searching for free tutorials on YouTube which gradually led me to where I am today. I'm not saying I'm a fantastic video editor; however, compared to how I started, I'd say it's impressive progress without paid tuition. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (www.bls.gov), most editors require a bachelor's degree in a film-related field. Video editors must not only have experience with editing software, but must be proficient with digital cameras and photography equipment. While these are obviously the requirements to become… halfway… er, improve your skills and creativity. Last but not least, you must enjoy what you are doing, you must love the desire to improve, never assuming that there is no room for improvement. Just remember that no matter who you are, there is always someone who is better than you in some way, so you have to work really hard to get that climate control office.
