Introduction Educational technology has achieved great development in recent decades and Virtual Field Trips (VFT) are certainly one of them. This article will mainly discuss the definition of VFT, why it is needed, an example of its application with screenshots, advantages and disadvantages; provide information on its future development and excellent links to resources. Teachers and educators will be most interested in this document because it will improve their current understanding of VFTs, show them future directions, and introduce them to several useful and practical websites.
