Augmented reality has challenged retailers and manufacturers to provide customers with an interactive shopping experience. LEGO was one such company that managed to create such an application. They created an augmented reality application, so that when the customer places the product in front of this machine, they can see the packaging of the desired model and also see a 3D virtual view of what it would look like when completed. This application is created using 2nd generation Intel Core i7 processors that power Digital Box kiosks, which in turn produce stunning 3D product details. These LEGO Digital Box kiosks are available in all LEGO stores and also in other large toy stores (Metaio GmbH, 2010). Augmented reality has also been used in the field of mobile advertising. Aurasma is one of these applications. This was launched in 2011. This application used image recognition. Here the content is placed on top of the newspaper or magazine, which features 2D content or video (Cellan-Jones, 2011).Ramblib et al. they stated in their article that “a static reading experience can be converted into a dynamic, fun and engaging reading experience for children, with the help of augmented reality. This is done by integrating augmented reality into a physical book.” (Ramblib et al., 2012). In this article, a physical storybook is made much more interactive for children, with the application of augmented reality. Engages the pages of the book with graphic content, animations and audio. Tomi and Ramblib Awang Rambili describe in their article the development of an educational storybook for children that is interactive and based on augmented reality. They took the story of the "thirsty crow... in the center of the card... that is offered, and through advancement, it is possible to expand the reach of augmented reality to a much larger area. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) According to a particular source (Jim 2012, p 434), the University of Illinois is planning to develop an application that would help students use their mobile phones, scan any topic and find more resources for this topic in the library, using the same application itself. main purpose of this application would allow students to scan the page or content of the book and the app in turn would provide them with a list of resources that they could refer to this application, with the help of OCR, compare and verify with in the database, check if there is a match with the searched resource and provide the user with relevant information on the mobile.
