Technology is the ultimate tool for finding almost anything you're curious about. Technology can be used as a great tool to learn new things, but at the same time it can be used in a negative way. In the two stories “The Veldt” and “In Another Country” technology is used in the sense of making life much worse. The authors of the two stories use technology to demonstrate that it is harmful to society because it prevents society from being together. In the short story “The Veldt”, author Bradbury shows that technology has made people dependent on it. Kids these days use iPads, iPhones, and other various types of technology to constantly check social media or text friends. This is causing children today to become more and more dependent on technology and are unable to live even for a second without it. This is a problem because Bradbury tells us that technology has taken over the way people behave in society in a negative way. It is telling us that it is affecting young people and adults in their daily lives. In this short story George says: “We have gazed at our mechanical and electronic navels for too long. My God, how we need a breath of honest air” (Bradbury 9). George in this quote underlines how we humans have been too attached to technology; where it changed us in the way we act. He is trying to explain that people don't spend enough time on an interesting activity, but use that time to use their phone or computer. George is trying to argue that life is made for having many adventures while technology only focuses on one aspect of life. Additionally, technology is taking away the way young people interact with others. “The Veldt” is trying... middle of paper......to hurt the person. Furthermore, the separation shows how the major is deeply disturbed by what happened. Technology can help repair a physical injury, but it will never fix an emotional scar. The mayor is now convinced that technology causes even more problems where it has played an important game between life and death. Technology played the role of a wound that will remain in his heart for the rest of his life. Technology has played an important role in the way we act and the way we are. Technology in the two stories “The Veldt” and “In Another Country” showed us that it is inadequate for society. In these two stories the authors showed how technology is affecting young people by separating them from friends and family. Furthermore, it has been proven that technology is used in the sense of pushing people apart instead of bringing them together as a whole.
