The world works in many different ways. High school students work in many different ways. As a teen driver myself, I think eligibility for a driver's license should be based not only on driving knowledge and safety, but also on work ethic. Teenage drivers are all stereotyped into a category of unsafe drivers, because some of the ignorant kids who have the privilege of driving, also have the maturity of a child. Society places all teenagers in the same stereotype when the problem only affects less intelligent teenagers. An F in a high school class is completely unacceptable and should be treated as such. Being a high school student, I can honestly say that the rigor of classes is a scandalous excuse for a bad academic grade, the reason for poor performance is complete laziness and lack of apathy. If playing sports or any other after-school activity is considered a privilege, having a driving license is also a privilege. (Thesis) I believe that students who fail to attend high school should have their driver's licenses revoked. Driving is a privilege and if one is irresponsible in not taking care of their school requirements, they should not be able to drive. They are proving that they will not be able to handle themselves on the road. Due to irresponsible teen drivers, traffic accidents are the leading cause of death among young people. There are many reasons why teenagers do not do well in school. Peer pressure is one of the most important factors in the lives of teenagers. Following trends allows us to make friends, and then teenagers leave comfort aside and follow the latest fashions. In the end, all they want is to be able to fit in, look good, look cute and be pop... middle of the road... extracurricular activities require students to have a certain GPA, so this should be true for a potentially deadly license. These are things that should be given more responsibility and accountability to them. (Backup) The other half of the coin is that teenagers are losing all their incentives. Teens are not allowed to play on any sports teams or engage in extracurricular activities. Adolescents who are unable to participate in any positive activities will be more involved in negative peer pressure. (Backup) Teens who drive while not in class should have their licenses revoked because they don't seem to understand that driving is a dangerous act and that classroom rules are reflected on the driving route. It is necessary to introduce incentives otherwise students will continue to drive without taking responsibility not only for their future but also for their life on the road.
