Biodata: Narayana Murthy was born on 20 August 1946 in Mysore, Karnataka. He graduated in 1967 with BE Electrical Engineering from NIE Mysore and in 1969 obtained his Masters from IIT Kanpur. Career: Narayana Murthy started his career at IIM Ahmedabad as a Chief Systems Programmer and worked on India's first time-sharing computer system and designed a BASIC interpreter for ECIL (Electronics Corporation of India Limited). Infosys was not Narayana Murthy's first business venture. At first, he founded a company called Softronics. But he was not successful at that time; went bankrupt after about a year and a half, he joined Patni Computer Systems in Pune in 1977. He married Sudha at his home on 10 February 1978.
