Society has changed over the years. In the old days, a high school diploma was enough. Graduating from high school was an achievement that families bragged about when their children received it. In Lebanon, most children completed school up to ninth grade, where they received the Brevet certificate and then dropped out of school believing that the Brevet certificate was sufficient to provide them with a job. However, nowadays the minimum requirement for any regular job, such as a bank clerk or clerk, requires a bachelor's degree. In fact, as time passes and the economy deteriorates, the only guarantee of acquiring a job is having a master's degree.
