Man-made climate change, hoax or real life? By: Jase Romine 02/21/2014The climate crisis of the 21st century appears to be all about climate change and/or global warming. Many people think that most of the man-made climate is caused by the world's largest energy-using corporations, which together have produced nearly two-thirds of the greenhouse gas emissions generated since the dawn of the industrial age, suggests a new research. The companies range from investor-owned, household names like Chevron, Exxon and BP to state-owned and government-run companies. According to the analysis, hailed by former Vice President Al Gore as a "crucial step forward", most of the companies are in the oil, gas or coal production sector. (Kenny)Half of the estimated emissions have been produced in the last 25 years alone. Well past the date that governments and companies realized that rising greenhouse gas emissions from burning coal and oil are causing dangerous climate change. Many of these same companies also have substantial reserves of fossil fuels that, if burned, would expose the world to an even greater risk of dangerous climate change. Climate change experts said the dataset represents the most ambitious effort yet to hold individual carbon producers, rather than governments, accountable. According to the research, 90 companies on the list of top emitters produced 63% of cumulative global industrial carbon dioxide and methane emissions between 1751 and 2010, equivalent to approximately 914 gigatons of CO2. All but seven of the 90 companies were energy companies that produced oil, gas and coal. The remaining seven were cement manufacturers. The... middle of paper... a man of God. I think we need to do our best to take care of the world and try to live the best life we can. this will please God. He gave us this land so that we should take care of it as best we can. We have a role as custodians, we are called to appreciate the functionality and beauty of the environment. In His incredible grace and power, God has placed on this planet everything necessary to feed, clothe, and house the billions of people who have lived on it since the Garden of Eden. All the resources He has provided for our needs are renewable and He continues to provide the sunshine and rain needed to sustain and replenish those resources. And if that wasn't enough, He also decorated the planet with great color and beauty to entice our senses and thrill our souls with wonder! Of course as Christians we should do what we can to be true stewards of God's creation.
