Cell phones: we use them mostly every five minutes. Sometimes there's no reason we even use our phones at all. Telephones have made our lives easier. Now we can do everything on our phones, from managing our bank account, connecting with others via social media, shopping online, and the main purpose: talking and texting others. However, as time goes on, it seems, we are more dependent on our phones than independent. Cell phones have made a drastic change, going from the size of a brick to fitting in the palm of our hands. Older phones had short battery life, antennas to get a better signal, bulky shape, large buttons and were very expensive. However, with advanced technology, phones now have longer battery life, no antennas, slim shape, touch screen, and are worth less than $500. Another difference between phones then and today is that phones older people didn't have the Internet to connect to others. Nowadays phones have internet and we use it for everything. With the advancement of phones, we can now manage our personal bank accounts online. Even though cell phones make it easier to manage our bank accounts. If they are not careful, people can steal important information from anyone. Nowadays it's common to buy what you need online and the only way to pay for it is to use a credit or debit card. We enter all our personal banking information on shopping sites without even thinking about the thought that someone might steal our hard-earned money. Why do we do this? People know the consequences of putting personal information on the Internet, but they do it anyway. The downside of cell phones is that we are too dependent on them. With these new findings, this shows that people have taken the use of cell phones to the extreme, continuing to use them and affecting their health. Cell phones have become a real addiction for people. Some wouldn't even know what to do with their lives. Some people feel strange when they don't have their phone with them and it sends them on a frantic search. Mobile phones are supposed to make people more independent instead of dependent. However, with advances in phones, we use them more and more for everyday life. Even six year olds use cell phones, which isn't even fair. Telephones have made people forget how to have a normal conversation, become dependent on them, and endanger their health. Therefore, people need to stop being so dependent and become more independent in using mobile phones.
