Emerging adulthood represents the developmental period from late adolescence through the twenties, focusing primarily on the ages 18-25. This is the period when people begin to explore and realize their life skills, which then helps them characterize themselves as adults and no longer as adolescents. This topic of psychology is compelling to me because it is a phase that every adult has experienced, it is interesting that we have all experienced it differently based on our life circumstances and demographics. It is interesting to see the changes over the years and eventually it will be easier for young people to navigate these years as more and more young adults go to school these days. It teaches me to further understand why emerging adults go through emerging adulthood. But is emerging adulthood a period that every young person experiences throughout their life, in every culture and at exactly the same age or are there any restrictions for young people to experience this emerging stage. Marriage was the meaning of a person entering adulthood, usually occurring between the ages of 16 and 18 for females and 18-20 for males. This small window before marriage only allows for a period of adolescence but not the emergence of adulthood. This therefore means that emerging adulthood is not a universal phase, but is only experienced by those people who delay assuming adult responsibilities until beyond adolescence. Because some countries are extremely industrialized, people's need to have higher education is strengthened, many emerging adults stay in school until their early or mid-twenties to obtain a paid position. This allows them to explore relationships and different jobs before considering taking on the responsibility of marrying, procreating, and financially supporting a child. Although marriage is mostly calculated by some, there are cultures such as the Mormon Church that have a brief period of emergence. Due to cultural beliefs, there is no premarital sex and one usually aims to have large families, so the pressure is on young people to marry early and procreate because this is what is expected of them by both families; There has been an increase in well-paying jobs that require young people to have higher education in developing countries that are strengthening and integrating into the global economy. Technology is another factor that is becoming more and more prevalent in these underdeveloped countries. It is becoming less and less common for young people to go out and do agricultural work to support the family financially, as many parents prefer to support and make it easier for their children to go to school. All these factors may ultimately open up all the possibilities for more and more emerging adults to experience life and explore their independence, as countries become richer, it is likely that more young people will be able to go to school, move to a dormitory and have a semi-independent lifestyle. until reaching adulthood. This can benefit our future generations and potentially increase life expectancy and become viable adults who live longer, more prosperous lives. This will be a new evolution for the young people of today and for those to come, this means more educated people, who ask to change the way our work, the economy and the development of our countries can be. More and more young people will explore their horizons and develop themselves to be the best they can be instead of being forced into a low-paid, full-time job and finding themselves in a dead end. Maybe one day the new one
