There are some areas in the United States where bullying is more common; these areas are more subject to poverty and violence, which lead to bullying (School Bullying Statistics 2015). Diversity is an important factor that can influence bullying due to the differences between people (ibid). One demographic aspect of bullying is race, ethnicity, or origin. Stopbullying.gov states “that black and Hispanic youth who are bullied are more likely to suffer academically than their white peers” (Stopbullying.gov).
