It is important for a person to consult a doctor if they experience symptoms of dementia so that they can get the necessary help as soon as possible and can slow down the symptoms because a person has memory loss who has dementia or Alzheimer's and therefore should be assessed by a professional before receiving any treatment. There are preventions for dementia, as well as treatments, but no cure. Two preventive measures against dementia are a healthy diet and regular physical activity. "In the case of most progressive dementias, including Alzheimer's disease, there is no cure or treatment that slows or stops their progression" (Alzheimer's Association).
