Chunking Express basically uses a handheld camera to make each scene dynamic and lively, which conveys that the lives in the film are busy and scattered. The final scene of Chunking Express is quite calm compared to the other scenes. The reason is because the ending mostly deals with reverse shots and shots of two people, Faye and Cop 633, which is considered parallel to their first meeting. The scene shows the dialogues between Faye and Cop 633 in the same place where they took place. their first meeting, but many things have changed. As time passed, Faye became a hostess with longer hair, and Cop runs the bar after retirement. However, there are also commonalities between the times, which create a parallel and remind the audience of the characters' past problems. First, even if the person wearing the uniform has changed, there is still someone working in uniform. Unlike the bar owner, the stewardess and the policeman are constantly on the road, but still have to follow many rules. Bar work seems more static, but in reality it is much more flexible because the owners can make their own rules. The change of the person in uniform consequently leads to the change of the person who visited and the other who greeted. Furthermore, Faye becoming a stewardess reveals another commonality as Cop 633's ex-girlfriend is also a stewardess. The cop falls in love with Faye, who the cop thought was a completely different kind of person, but reminds viewers that love is actually something repetitive and similar to another. Although each love appears superficially different and original, the way people meet, love and break up is essentially similar. The end shows how the human... in the center of the card... long shot, the camera crosses the 180 degree axis to show all the shots and the reversed shots during the last dialogues. Breaking the axis rule helps change the mood of the scene and implies that the actual final shot is coming. As the atmosphere changes, the policeman also becomes more active. When the cop brings the map of California that Faye had given him earlier, the camera shows a close-up of the map. This close-up reveals that the policeman held the map with Faye in mind, which causes Faye to feel touched and respond to him. The camera shoots from high angles from the policeman's perspective and then low angles from Faye's position. These shots make the audience think of Faye as shy and cute and focus on Cop's gaze towards Faye with love. The scene ends with a close-up of the audio, which played the theme song, California Dreaming, at their first meeting, implying their new relationship.
