Have you ever considered the kind of world we live in right now? It is a cyber world full of great expansions, opportunities, innovative ideas and technology. Almost everyone has heard of Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ben Ive. But has anyone heard of the people behind the scenes or given them any credit? The best programmers around the world like Dennis Ritchie, Ken Thompson, Bjarne Stroustrup and Tim Berners-Lee develop important things needed for technological progress and get no recognition. For Dennis Ritchie, he helped build one of the most popular operating systems in the world, but he single-handedly created a compiler for his new programming language which is the basis for all hardware devices such as phones, machines, computers, etc. continues to receive almost no attention. Although Dennis has very successfully shaped the cyber world for the future and has certainly left more room to grow in the years to come, he puts the digital age on the verge of exploding with new ideas and innovations. Dennis Ritchie was born on September 9, 1941 in Bronxville, NY to parents Jean and Alistair. His father Alistair was an engineer at Bell Labs while his mother was a housewife. Dennis and his family moved to Summit, NJ when he was a child. Ritchie ended up growing up attending high school in Summit. He continued his education at Harvard University, where he studied physics as an undergraduate and applied mathematics as an undergraduate. Ritchie holds a bachelor's degree in both his undergraduate and graduate studies and several other advanced degrees along with a PhD in computer science. Since Ritchie liked procedural languages more than functional ones, Dennis decided that...... middle of paper ......ed, his natural writing skills helped his elegant code come to life to form progress technology of its era and give a lot of thought for the next generation to come and add or change something that will help the world grow.
