Topic > Harry Morgan's Moensica Criminal Justice Analysis

My client Dexter Morgan, in his 30s, Caucasian, is currently a forensic blood spatter expert at the Metro Miami Police Department in Florida from the TV series , Dexter. At the age of three, Dexter was adopted by Harry Morgan who also worked as a police officer. Dexter was told that his biological parents died in a terrible car accident. As he grows up, he hears the voices of a "dark passenger" who pushes him to kill. He has a history of killing neighbors' animals and says he has never liked animals. After learning this, Harry teaches Dexter to control his urge to kill by channeling it towards those who deserve it. Dexter often refers to this as the "Harry code". The first code is that someone deserves it if there is absolute proof that the criminals were guilty of murder. The second code Dexter must abide by is to make sure he hides all evidence to avoid detection by the justice system. These moral codes remained imprinted on Dexter throughout adulthood. When he isn't analyzing blood data or spending time with his girlfriend Rita, Rita's daughter and son, or his sister Debra, he is planning and executing his plan to kill other serial killers. Dexter has a specific method and ritual routine every time he kills someone. . After conclusive evidence that a person is guilty of killing one or more innocent people, Dexter targets his target and uses an animal tranquilizer (authorized by the police department) to put him to sleep. He then transports them to a different area where it has special meaning for the target, to the target's room where he does his serious criminal work, or to a whole gang's auto shop. While the target is still asleep, Dexter prepares the room by covering every inch with plastic...... middle of paper......himself and learns to express himself openly with the people he loves. Research has been conducted on these types of theories and treatments. Using cognitive theory and different steps to revisit Dexter's traumatic experience will reduce his symptoms and negative responses to flashbacks. Cognitive theory has been shown to be the most effective for those who suffer from PTSD or have experienced a horrible event in their life. Attachment theory demonstrates that attachment begins with the newborn and continues with him into adulthood. If Dexter can find closure in his backstory, there's a better chance he'll experience real emotions. The most difficult step in changing his behavior is to visit clinics often and practice changing his beliefs. But it will be very helpful for Dexter to share his secrets with a trusted psychologist instead of keeping them all a secret..
