Topic > The Political Philosophy of Hazebullah - 1578

The political philosophy of Hezbollah, an Islamic militant group and political party, is influenced primarily by external factors. Hezbullah (Party of God) was founded in 1982 during the First Lebanon War. “It arose from an anti-Israel Shiite Muslim rebel movement and was financed by Iran and trained by the Iranian Quds Force. Hezbollah has been based in southern Lebanon since its creation and is now led by Hasan Nasrullah.” (Alagha, The Change in Hezbollah's Ideology, 2006). Hezbollah entered the Lebanese political arena in 1992 with the aim of taking control of Lebanon and making the people and the world believe that it was not a terrorist organization, but a legitimate political movement. As Joseph mentioned, Hezbollah has five political ideologies, on which its goals and strategies are based (Alagha, The Shift in Hezbollah's Idealology, 2006). The first political ideology concerns the oppressor and the oppressed. According to Hezbollah, first world imperial-capitalist nations are the oppressors, primarily the United States, France and “Little Satan” Israel. Hezbollah feared that these oppressors should be punished based on the status or level of their oppression, such as tyranny, injustice, exploitation, betrayal, hypocrisy, treachery and therefore justice is what the oppressed Muslim society demands from the oppressor. Hezbollah's second political ideology concerns the Islamic State. Hezbollah invites the Lebanese population to make a decision on an Islamic State, because only an Islamic State can guarantee justice, freedom and security, because only an Islamic system can discourage the intervention of colonialists and imperialists in Lebanon. Hezbollah's ideology is the positio... at the center of the paper... government of Lebanon. Therefore, although Hezbullah was not considered a direct threat to them, they declared the military wing a terrorist organization. The reason for their movement is obvious: they simply cannot tolerate a powerful Islamic institution close to their allies. Bibliography Alagha, J.E. (2006). The change in Hezbollah's ideology.
