I Made My Own Walden PondThoreau believed in "living deep and sucking out all the marrow of life", and so he lived at Walden Pond for two years to see how it fared it could simplify to live better. I created my own “Walden,” a place where I could retreat to escape the materialism of my society. The place I created to go where there is no materialism and I can be myself and who I want to be is a place far away, deep in the woods. This place is a place where anything is possible. All around you you see nothing but flowers and animals, beautiful green grass and my little cottage where I spend my days. Out there I don't need to worry about paying bills or having to get a job. All I have to do is sit back and relax. I like to fish for food, but I only catch what I can eat, because I don't want my game to be scarce. Sometimes I hunt for my dinner and look for food on the ground like pine cones or berry bushes. In the forest no one has to worry about materialism, they just have to be themselves. I chose this place because I love the forest and I love animals. I don't want to make a fuss about doing something I don't want to do. I can enjoy life out there in the wilderness just by listening to nature and the things around me. I bathe in a river that flows with fresh water every day. I am happy to have pets because if I didn't have them I would always feel alone and I would have no one to share my secrets with. My house isn't much, but it suits my needs, and I don't do that out there. You don't need much. All I have is a chair to read, a bathroom under the tree outside and a bed. I only have what is necessary to live. Every night I light a fire to keep warm and to cook food. My house is just a cabin that can only fit me and my dog, just the way I want. Flowers that make it look pretty and interesting surround my cabin. It's something cozy and something I can just go to, think about, be alone and never have to worry about anyone or anything except my pets and myself..
