Normalization, as defined by Ashman & Elkins, (2008) is the "belief that people with disabilities or impairments should enjoy the same rights, privileges, opportunities and access to services and facilities as those who have no impairments.' In a country where diversity and equality are promoted within our nation's identity, the concept of 'normalisation' is one that should also be natural to Australian social behaviour it is a process that cannot work without adequate support from both the educational community and the broader community. This support exists in the context of the integration and development of policies, principles, laws and frameworks such policies, principles, laws and frameworks are readily available for developmental use by educators, this has not always been the case. This report will discuss how past and present attitudes towards policies, principles, laws and frameworks have had a great impact on modern educational society. Policies, principles and frameworks function within the inclusive educational environment once they have been adopted by an individual or social group as an action plan. These action plans are designed to promote the external or internal prosperity and future success of students, regardless of what their special learning needs may be. Policies, principles and frameworks constitute the underlying fabric of the educational society. Along with action plans come positive and negative attitudes towards the influence each will impose on society. Historically, teachers have not been favorably disposed towards the policy of greater inclusion of children with special needs within regular classrooms. ...the education society, but for now it is the responsibility of each individual teacher to fulfill their teaching for each student in their classroom. In modern society it is policies, principles, laws and frameworks such as the Disability Discrimination Act, Declaration on Inclusive Education – (2005) and the Salamanca Declaration that have had a major impact on the way students are educated , regardless of whether they have special learning needs or not. Teachers in modern society are now becoming aware that each student has specific strengths and weaknesses in learning, and therefore each classroom is universally different. As a student teacher, it is important to recognize and understand such policies and frameworks (both negatively and positively) to effectively implement them in teaching strategies for the development of future students..
