Longfellow Elementary was the first school where I was able to observe an early childhood education teacher. While my experience with my substitute wasn't perfect, it taught me that I need to stay organized and calm when I'm a teacher. Through the field placement I assimilated new ideas into my concept of how to be a good teacher. I also don't think I achieved a change in concept because I didn't have a reason to. I'm only a freshman and have only spent two classes so far learning about early childhood education. I don't think two classes are enough to change an entire concept. There are four stages to concept change, and I couldn't accomplish them all with knowledge from just two lessons. Even though I learned a lot this semester, I didn't experience a change in concept. I have become dissatisfied with some concepts but have not yet achieved concept change. I don't think two lessons are enough to achieve a change of concept. As I continue my studies in early childhood education, I believe I will be exposed to new situations and learn new information that will expose me to concepts
