"Rocking Horse Winner" by DH Lawrence is a classic modernist story about a family full of internal conflicts, all depicted through the innocence of a child. Tortured by a house whispering to him, Paul tries to gain his mother's missing affection by presenting that he possesses fortune that gives him money. Present this fortune by choosing the name of a winning horse while riding his rocking horse.
