Like many facilities, nurses use judgment and that means making a decision. Nurses are often placed in a so-called “hot box” by RRT managers in justifying the call, so they in turn become shy about calling or overextend their scope of practice. With the availability of RRT, nurses and ancillary staff should not over analyze themselves or the situation, if there is a concern, make the call, a life is potentially at risk
