Relationships evolve as a human being evolves. In Shakespeare's time, the relationship between human beings was mainly based on impulse, but nowadays human beings do not tend to become impulsive at the beginning of the relationship to avoid any tragedy by learning from past stories. In Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, the original relationship between the lovers, their marriage, and their suicides are the direct result of their impulsiveness. The initial relationship between Romeo and Juliet is based on impulse. Romeo immediately chooses a lover without thinking about her. Romeo regrets his past love. Romeo's past love is Rosaline. When Benvolio suggests to Romeo that he can Benvolio suggests to Romeo that he learn to forget Rosaline "Giving freedom to thy eyes; / Examine other beauties" (8), Romeo says that Rosaline is the fairest of all and that he can never forget her (8). Romeo thinks that Rosaline is the love of his life and he cannot live without Rosaline. He tries to find Rosaline in every girl he sees. This action of Romeo shows that he views love emotionally. On the other hand, Romeo forgets his first love when he first sees Juliet at the Capulet's party. Romeo tells Juliet that "Oh, she teaches the torches to burn bright! She seems to hang on the night's cheek Like a rich jewel in an Ethiopian's ear; Beauty too rich to use, for the earth too dear! So she shows a snow-covered dove in a troop of crows, as that lady yonder among her companions shows, I will guard her standing place, and, touching hers, I will bless my rude hand Has my heart loved thus far? swear it, see! For I never saw true beauty until this night” (19-20). Now these actions of Romeo towards Juliet show that Romeo is very impulsive… middle of paper. she finds out that Romeo is dead. Juliet does not think about the future. She can marry Paris and forget her three-day affair with Romeo. She can go outside Verona and try to find Romeo in her next love , impulsive and thoughtless and are the same as Romeo's actions for his suicide. If the beginning of the relationship is well thought out rather than impulsive, then the relationship will not end badly. The relationship between Romeo and Juliet was based on impulse, that's why the whole relationship only lasted a couple of days. If the relationship between Romeo and Juliet is well thought out in the beginning with the advice of their family, then they may not have died within a couple of days of their relationship.
