F. Of all the sports personalities that have ever existed, and still exist, there are many I would want to converse with, although in this situation there is one specific personality I would sit down with. That would be Glen Metropolit. Metropolit's path to the NHL is probably the most unlikely path ever taken by an NHL player. I chose Glen because I believe, based on his life story, that he was one of the most determined minor hockey players to ever play the game. Glen grew up in Regent Park (one of the poorest areas of Toronto), it seemed like he would never escape the trouble Regent Park brought him. I've never heard of someone who was constantly kicked, battered, and hurt by the world, but who simply wouldn't give up. He ran away from Regent Park and then thought he had found an escape by attending school in BC, to improve his chances of getting a scholarship. Instead he failed, due to poor school grades. Although, after proving to his coaches at BC that his skills were ready, one of his coaches gave him a tryout with the Atlanta Knights. He fought against the odds and got his chance in Nashville with an ECHL team. After finally getting his NHL gig, Glen was unable to find stability (going between entertainment and the minors, and wanted to support/stabilize his family. Being the go-getter that he is, he did this by going to Europe. He put family 1st, and became among the best in Europe. Those years abroad gave him much more stability in the NHL. Glen's story of determination and perseverance is absolutely amazing, and is one of the most forgotten stories told in hockey compares truly. any athlete's story to Glen's. It's extraordinarily wonderful and inspiring to listen to, and... middle of paper... something goes right for Glen, something manages to slow him down or hold him back Timing and stability are really connected between they in Glen's case and story. Glen and his wife were trying to build a family, while Glen was looking for a place in an NHL club. Not good timing for Glen being moved from one city to another. In a perfect world people think that making it to professional sport is all sunshine and rainbows, but in reality they are usually the ones who have the most heart, the most motivation and the most desire. to reach their ultimatum. I would focus on Glen's grueling journey through the hard times, showing everyone how much madness this man has been through. It would show the difficult times as the main focus, but ultimately tell how the protagonist emerged surpassing all odds and escaping from a dark past of desperation and sadness..
