Over the past year, we've learned quite a bit about ourselves in our Turk Tracks advisory groups. This includes our personality strengths and weaknesses, our academic life, community service, and what our future may hold. According to the Keirsey Temperament Sorter, I am an ENFP, or what is called a “Champion.” Champions have a wide range and variety of emotions and a great passion for novelty. They see life as an exciting drama, pregnant with possibilities for both good and evil, and they want to experience all the significant events and fascinating people of the world. Finding out affected me, as I see how the test shows and how I approach life are very similar. I am a very compassionate person and I like to live life to the fullest and be able to fully understand everything. I achieved some academic results this year, but not as many as I would have liked. Some were simple things, like getting full credit for one of my English homework, or full credit for one of my history maps, but I would like to focus on my Thoreau quotes that I got an A on in Literature, because that's one of my greatest personal accomplishments in Literature, earning the highest grade from any assignment in that class. We had to read 20 quotes from the book “Walden” by Henry David Thoreau and paraphrase them. In my mind, I didn't think I understood the quotes that much, especially when I paraphrased them, but I got an A on the paper, and with that I found I understood more about this literature than I thought. My 11th grade academic goals are not as ambitious as they should be, but they are sufficient by my standards. I want to keep my grades…middle of the paper…and that affects my grades in sometimes critical ways. I have a college visit scheduled for March 3, 2014 at Everett Community College. Some of my friends went to EvCC and told me that they really liked it, because all the teachers really helped you understand everything and wanted to make sure that you got your money's worth from the school. I haven't been able to get my job shadow yet, but when I go to college, I will try to find someone who can shadow for chemistry. I'm not sure what it will be like, but I'm very excited about it, as I've been trying to get shadow work for chemistry since my freshman year, with the help of my science teacher, Ryan Monger. It's been good for me to review everything I've learned on Turk Tracks so far this year, and in years past as well. I'm excited to finish this year and move on to my senior year. I feel more than ready!
