For example, having a nice house, hot water, clean clothes, clean shoes, and a safe area to live. This experience made me become more humble, always be kind, treat others with the utmost respect, and realize that there are people who wish to have my kind of lifestyle, so I should appreciate it as much as possible. Furthermore, it allowed me to have a newfound respect for my father and my family who currently still live in Colombia. It's not easy, but they are lucky enough to be able to handle the situation the way they do. I fell in love with Colombia because, despite the things they had to go through, these people were all happy and kind to each other. Plus, it's a much slower pace than fast-paced American life and has taught me to take a step back sometimes to just appreciate life because my dad had to go through hell and back to the United States. Therefore, whenever I have the chance, I always do my best to show my father that I appreciate him, I love him, I recognize the sacrifices he has made for his family to have a better life, and for this I will forever be grateful to him . After returning home, I began to realize how lucky and truly blessed I am in my life. I will never forget that trip and can't wait to return to Colombia in November to see what this next experience will bring to my life.
