The Stand Your Ground Law consolidates five statutes together to create one strong law. The law itself is not long but to find all the requirements you need to refer to the five statutes separately. The five statutes are the use of force for self-defense, the use of force for the protection of others, the use of force for the protection of other property, the use of force in law enforcement, and the use of force by people with special abilities. responsibility for the care, discipline and safety of others. Article 506, on the use of force for the protection of others, states that the person defending someone else must not retreat more than the protected one. Section 505, on the use of force in self-defense, says someone can put the aggressor in prison until he and others feel safe and have notified the authorities. This method is safer and more civilized than defending oneself with lethal force or firearms. The Castle Doctrine is listed in this law under section 505 where it says that if a person is unlawfully in a dwelling, residence, or vehicle, the owner or resident may take necessary precautions to ensure his or her safety. The Stand Your Ground law states that deadly force is unjustifiable if the person had the opportunity to retreat safely and used primarily deadly force and weapons. Even though the law says several times that people do not have to retreat to defend themselves.
