Topic > Why I want to be a sports journalist - 1473

I want to be a sports journalist when I grow up because I would like to discuss events with professionals. I also couldn't see myself in life without being linked to sport. It also seems really cool to be a sportscaster at ESPN because it seems like a great place to work there. It started on September 7, 1979 and was hosted by George Grande and Lee Leonard and on May 17, 1998 they had their 20,000th episode and in February they had their 30,000th episode. They then found out where they finally wanted to put their broadcast station, in Connecticut and recently, in 2014, they moved to Digital Center 2's Studio The workers mostly live in Connecticut or Los Angeles because that's where the two main stations are located. They announce sports matches, keep us updated, they also go to matches and interview players or coaches, give their opinions on teams and players. Jobs that are in some way related to an ESPN job are being a team manager, player, coach, or owner. Another job related to this is that of a newspaper writer. You need to have basic information about studying to be prepared for programs or interviews. Identify stations and introduce or close shows, using memorized scripts or by reading the small TV right next to the camera. Interview the show's guests about their opinions and find out what they think about current or future events. They should make promotional appearances at public or private events to represent their current or former employees. They need to cover specific events, get into the realm of big news, or games that are a really big deal. Employee schedules are all different because they all work different hours, somehow... middle of paper... sometimes you can be funny, so I have a lot of benefits for the job. Also, when I travel (coast to coast) and stay in luxury hotels and eat well every night and day, ESPN probably pays for the food and the hotel, so that's a really good thing too, plus it saves me a lot of money. And maybe maybe I could become famous like John Madden, because that would be awesome because he comes out in movies and he's friends with a lot of famous people and he has his own video game. I also get to go to the NBA and NFL draft and the combine where they train for the NFL and NBA coaches, so that's cool too. Maybe I just need to go, basketball guy, where I work when it's basketball season, so when it's not basketball season I can spend time with my family and summer. But mostly yes, I would still like to work at ESPN or the sports center.
