As an adult learner in an online learning environment, a certain amount of preparation skills will be required. Various information will be presented to highlight the advantages and disadvantages of the online learning environment. This article will identify the difference between the adult online student and a traditional student. The purpose of this research paper is to bring together statistics on adult learner functionality within the online environment. The resources: literacy, numeracy and built civic attitudes join the foundations on which the well-rounded adult student is built (Tomei, 2010). The adult as a learner is responsible for acquiring the erudition necessary to function as an adult member of civilization (Tomei, 2010).
