There has been a tremendous amount of severe weather and climate change. All of this is largely caused by global warming. What is global warming? Global warming is caused by a number of things. Greenhouse gas pollution is one of the major factors causing it. These greenhouse gases are carbon dioxide, methane from landfills, fossil fuels, nitrous oxide from fertilizers and finally carbon monoxide, all of these gases heat and damage the atmosphere. Some of these gases are caused by natural things on earth such as volcanoes, but humans are responsible for most of these gases in the air (“global warming”). Global warming is warming regions and this is what causes bad weather and melting of the polar ice caps. Global warming is the result of human air pollution of greenhouse gases in the environment and is killing our planet. Many people don't know what global warming is. Also, people don't know what causes it and how it can be prevented. Global warming is caused by the greenhouse gases we create and release into the atmosphere. Robert Royal, a scientist, said that "it is mainly caused by carbon dioxide in our atmosphere." Carbon dioxide is one of the dangerous greenhouse gases (Royal, Robert page 24). Global warming is for the most part a very bad and dangerous event and must be stopped for humans and other animal species to survive, but some people think it is a good thing for our planet. James S. Robbin, a scientist who studies the Earth's atmosphere, said, "that can be beneficial in various ways (Robbin S. James page 33)." Global warming is really a harmful thing and is very dangerous. It is harming our planet, but it is killing it slowly and must stop for humans to survive.
