North and South Korea Erupt into WarJohn F. Kennedy once observed, "Mankind must end war before war ends mankind." Increasing tensions between two opposing forces can lead to intense conflict. Provided that China and Japan have their own struggles, North Korea and South Korea have been fighting since 1950 (“Korean War,” 1) and continue to maintain their conflicts, which seem to be increasing. South Korea, a democratic nation, is the exact opposite of North Korea; a hyper-nationalist nation – seemingly creating a “clash of personalities” between the two. Just like World War I, a full-blown war could break out in the future due to North Korea's hyper-nationalist and secretive government. North Korea's isolation, infighting, and Kim Jong-un's intent to demonstrate leadership will increase tensions between North and South Korea and could result in an outbreak of war in the near future. Through global media, North Korea's isolation and harsh rule have become increasingly evident. secret, although some facts have been revealed (“North Korea Profile,” 1). According to data collected by the Guardian, in South Korea eighty-one out of one hundred people have access to the Internet, while in North Korea around 0.1 out of one hundred people have access to the Internet. Not only is most of North Korea's population disconnected from outside sources, but North Korea's leaders are also isolated from outside sources; putting themselves at a disadvantage. North Korea could launch a war, but is unaware of what it is facing due to its secrecy.
