Immigration has changed the demographics of the United States. It has contributed to massive growth in the US population. The influx of immigrants has added a good mix of various racial and ethnic groups to the U.S. population. Immigrant groups have had an enormous impact on the social, cultural, economic, and political landscape of the United States. Europeans initially came to America as immigrants during the Industrial Revolution. Many years later Latinos and Asians also came to America as immigrants. Immigration has helped the United States by lending a helping hand and providing labor to accommodate America's growing manufacturing economy. From 1880 to 1930, more than 27 million new immigrants came to America from Italy, Germany, Europe, Russia, England, Canada, Ireland, and Sweden. In addition to all these countries, Mexico is the largest source of immigration. Chinese and Indian immigrants are the second and third largest immigrant groups. The six high-immigration states are California, New York, Texas, Florida, Illinois and New Jersey. Immigrant votes affected these six states in many ways. Immigrant integration is a way to incorporate immigrants to become an active part of society. Immigrant integration is the primary force driving the power immigrants have in the United States. There are many ways in which local schools, churches, employers and community groups have launched integration programs, such as ESL classes, vocational training, health clinics, etc. Specific examples of these types of programs include the No Child Left Behind Act which was launched in 2001, with the goal of boosting literacy among immigrant children. The 2009 Children's Health Insurance Program provided health insurance to immigrant children. The right to vote A... the focus of the paper... as the largest racial ethnic group in California. It is expected that by 2016, 28 million Latinos will vote in American elections. Latino votes played an important role in President Obama's re-election. Asians also supported the president's re-election. In conclusion, we can see how the influx of immigrant population has shaped America as a nation. This shows that voting power and the ability to run for office and seek seats in congress gave immigrants the power to make decisions about the future of the American political scene. Nonetheless, Latinos represent the future dominant workforce of the US economy. Many Hispanics joined the military. Finally, the business community, military system, political system, and educational institutions of the United States are expected to depend on Latinos for the foreseeable future..
