I asked the student to read a story to the class that was about all the things that started with the letter L. She loves being the teacher's helper, so the I gave the chance to help teach her friends made her very excited. The rest of the class sat on the carpet for circle time. The male student is very anxious and never sits still. He was advised to start sitting in a chair instead of on the floor to help him calm down. In addition to giving him a chair, I planned to teach the class the song with the letter L which had movements to teach it. The male student loved it! He managed to get up from his seat and move across the carpet. Instead of it being a behavioral challenge, he was participating in the class. Since that day I have tried to incorporate hands-on learning and activities that get the class moving so that perhaps behaviors can be less mundane
