Topic > Essay on the Rise of Islam - 1002

Through fear and violence it shaped the strict Muslim codes to live by and enforced its respect over other religions such as Christianity. Muhammad's use of violence to spread the Muslim religion, along with my second point of a false sense of diplomacy, in turn helped my third point shape 10th century modern views of an Islamic culture that is still fighting in the Arabian Peninsula. The fear that Islamic society placed in its citizens is a major reason, if not the reason why Islam grew so rapidly and became a force to be reckoned with from the birth of Muhammad in 570 AD to the rulers of the 10th century with the Abbasid Caliphate. Battles have been lost, but beliefs have a way with people taking drastic measures and committing violence for a cause in the spirit of the person. Looking at Muslim history one must not look at spiritual morality but at justice and fairness towards other peoples in their beliefs and in this sense they were the leaders in creating violent violence and in inciting fear for a religious people.
