There were many great composers during the late Baroque period, each with their own distinct talents. Each composer played a key role in shaping the Baroque period. Arcangelo Corelli was one of those important composers who influenced many people during his time. He lived in Italy from 1653 to 1713. He was a composer, teacher and violinist. Corelli was an influential person in the Baroque period; "History has remembered him with titles such as 'Founder of modern violin technique', 'The world's first great violinist' and 'Father of the Concerto Grosso'". His mother, Santa Raffini, gave him the name of his father, who died a month before his conception. Corelli's mother had to raise five children alone, including Arcangelo.
