Television Violence Causes Aggression in Boys Teens are evidently influenced by things in their environment such as the media, peers and family. Elementary school-aged children are easily influenced because these are critical years for developing their sense of individuality and social skills with their peers. The boys' vulnerability is one of the reasons why they are a popular culture target of showing television violence because they have rarely encountered it in previous years, so they find the fighting intriguing from the action to the cartoon characters in the shows. Children's television networks can choose what they broadcast, so instead of creating a children's network, like a cartoon network, with age-appropriate programming without violence, they show fighting and weapons making the child believe that these actions are acceptable . The popular culture of television violence associated with television programs such as Batman encourages aggressive behavior in elementary school-aged children due to the violent images depicted in fighting and gun scenes. The numerous manifestations of television violence affect children of primary school age. Violence is more common nowadays in society and media.
