Topic > In our nation today, abortion is used as another form of birth control. Only later does the woman realize the mistake she made. Abortion will continue to be taken for granted until it becomes illegal. Banning abortion will prevent innocent children from being deprived of their lives. Let's start this essay by reading the true story of a woman who had an abortion. “I found out I was pregnant at the age of eighteen, shortly after I moved in with my boyfriend. Feeling scared and insecure, I didn't know how a baby would fit into my future. After seeking advice from friends and family, it seemed logical to consider abortion as an option. After all, I was young, pretty and smart. I had my whole life ahead of me. It was a shock to learn that I was close to six months pregnant. This fact certainly complicated things. It would mean I would have to have a different, more expensive type of abortion. With the support of those I respected most, I made a decision. An appointment was made for a week later. My boyfriend and I arrived at the hospital early one morning in April. After the initial screening they took me to an examination room where the lethal dose of saline was injected into my womb. Within a few minutes I was taken to a hospital room where I was informed that I could expect cramps, a little worse than a normal period, and that it would all pass in about 24-48 hours. There was nothing left for me to do but wait for my body's "natural" ability to expel the unwanted fetus. In other words, giving birth to my dead baby. I was told to stay in bed and call the nurse after I gave birth. There were six girls in the hospital room all together. At first we had a lot of fun! There was plenty of talk... in the middle of the paper... elated about abortion." AfterAbortion. Web. 09 March 2011. .Lowen, Linda. "10 arguments for abortion and against abortion."
