In other words, the reporting demands of the organization lead to concerns about implementing mission activities that would be easier to deliver rather than about the best methods to achieve the goals and mission of the organization (Christen & Ebrahim, 2006). Therefore, we suggest the following models as organizational strategy solutions to manage tensions, improve accountability, and effectively adhere to the mission. • Prioritize lateral accountability: Focus on staff o Frequent meetings provide a forum for accountability of staff members and ensure mission focus through coordination services, such as doctor visits coordinated with client work schedules (Christen & Ebrahim, 2006). • Staff Empowerment through Organizational Slack oAlthough rules are important in determining the course of action, we suggest an organization create slack to allow staff flexibility to best serve customers and achieve the mission beyond regulations (Christen & Ebrahim, 2006).• Close coupling between evaluation and work
