Being born female or male in any society is more than an unassuming biological fact as it is not without social implications. Women constitute a distinct social group, as gender dominates it through culture which is transformed into what constitutes a fact of nature. The idea that the natural differences between the sexes are the basis/spring of everything that makes women and men distinct has also been deeply introduced into various scientific debates. The absolute inconsistency of roles and relationships between women and men in different societies and social groups presents itself as one of the main pieces of evidence against this unsophisticated biologically deterministic interpretation. If there is no stability between how different societies believe/assume that men are men and women are women – this long-standing dictum is being confronted with ever-increasing frequency as social researchers highlight the nature of the construct social like that, so what can it be?
