Topic > The Arctic Wolf: The Arctic Wolf's Habitat

The Arctic Wolf's habitat is a very hostile place. The temperature must be below zero degrees. There are tundra, rolling hills, glacial valleys, ice fields, shallow lakes, and green plains (Arctic/Antarctic: The Arctic Wolf). These snow-white creators don't have many places to live. Arctic wolves used to be everywhere in North America, but sadly they are now reduced to Canada, Alaska, Idaho, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Wisconsin and Wyoming (Arctic/Antarctic: The Arctic Wolf). Arctic wolves are one of the most dangerous types of wolves; people must find a way to save them and their habitat before they disappear forever. Not many people know about the arctic wolf, it is the snow-white version of a wolf. They have a really big appetite when it comes to eating. Most of them eat only one meal a day and eat up to 20 pounds in that meal. They are mostly carnivorous; they eat mainly large animals such as caribou and musk oxen so that they can feed themselves and the entire herd (Arctic/Antarctic: The Arctic wolf). People eat up to three meals a day, but wolves can go days without eating anything (Arctic/Antarctic: The Arctic Wolf). When wolves hunt they must be able to have a plan for catching food. Wolves convince all members of the pack that are hunting to surround the animal and pounce on them. One bite to the neck and the animal would have died. When they eat, they will eat everything, such as meat, shank, fur, and bones (Arctic/Antarctic: The Arctic Wolf). Arctic wolves can also live up to 20 years in captivity, while in the wild they can only live 7-15 years (Arctic/Antarctic: The Arctic Wolf). Arctic wolves are one of the most beautiful and unique types of wolves. When arctic wolves are puppies t...... middle of paper ......y white fur for fur that costs a lot of money. Some people like to sell their teeth for money or make jewelry. Mostly just for the fun of it. Also to sell the entire wolf for money or cut off pieces of the wolf such as the head, ears, paws and tail as a reward for killing one. So because of all the things people are doing to kill, these wolves are making them all disappear. There are fewer ads. There are not a total of 50 states like there used to be, they are reduced to 7 states plus Canada, that's how serious the case is today. Many people think that humans are the only ones killing Arctic wolves, but that's not the case. Arctic wolves' most dangerous threat is humans, but they are also being killed by global warming for melting their habitat into water and since there are fewer of them now polar bears have more advantages in hunting them.
