Growing up there there was never a day that I wasn't with my dad. My father always taught me many values in life, as did my family. Even though I never thought about it at the time it happened. As I have gotten older and looked back I have noticed that growing up with a close relationship with my father I have grown and matured into the young adult I am today. One of my favorite memories with my dad was when my brother and I weren't in school and dad wasn't working, so he decided to take us to the mountains. It was really random, but my brother and I loved the fact that we were going to the mountains. Driving up the mountain the view was amazing, the trees were green and the air was crisp and very fresh, my brother and I enjoyed the beautiful mountains and played spy. Once we climbed the mountain, my brother and I ran to the river, played in the river and got scared of the water spiders, but dad scared them away. While we played, my father made us some sandwiches. Once my father had finished making the sandwiches, he called us to eat. While we ate our delicious sandwiches that my father prepared with love, we dried ourselves in the warm sun and the sweet cool breeze. Once they dried off, my dad said it was time to go. Even though we were reluctant, we got into his van. My brother and I were so tired that the movement of the can helped us fall asleep and we didn't wake up until we got home. Looking back I realized that spending time with family is important. I also learned that being spontaneous every now and then is good. Even though my dad and I were spontaneous, one of the valuable things I learned came from an unexpected day when I slept in my dad's van. It all started when my dad and I decided to go to KFC for dinner. At KFC we waited for what felt like... half the paper...... ant and you should value every second you have with them, because you never know when they will be taken away from you. So growing up through a close relationship with my father, I grew and matured into the young adult I am today. Through all these memories I learned the importance of spending time with family, because you never know when they will be taken away from you. Also, spending time with my father taught me that I can't always control what happens in life and that I should learn to accept things and try to make the best of the situation. However, one of the most important values I learned from my father is to never forget where I have been, because I never know when I might need to find my way again. I use this lesson primarily to know where I've been, so I don't forget what life experiences helped shape the young adult I am today.
