By using a journal we were able to capture many key points that we could refer to later. We continued this process of journaling in mathematics. While solving math problems we examined the relationships between numbers and the meaning of certain processes. “Aha moments” were posted on sticky notes and placed on a KWL chart or recorded in journals. This was used by students to document what they learned that day. At the end of the day each student contributed to a class reflection on the day. This reflection also found space in their writings
