After reading 'THE LORD OF THE FLIES' The title of this book is 'THE LORD OF THE FLIES'. This book was written by William Gerald Golding and was published in 1954. William Gerald Golding, born in Cornwall, England, studied at Oxford University in 1911. During his life he spent time in the Royal Navy and other divisions during and after the Second World War. Probably, this difficult and gloomy period may have influenced him. Golding wrote "LORD OF THE Flies" when he was teaching school. This book was his first novel. Due to his brilliant works, he won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1983. There are many characters in this book, but among them, Piggy, Ralph, Jack and Simon are the main characters who lead the story. First of all, Piggy is a very calm and practical person. Always think about how to save them from the uninhabited island. It's a little fat, so it looks like a pig. He wears glasses. He is always logical when he gives his opinion on how to be saved from the uninhabited island. But as I can see, most of the children don't follow him well, they don't have strong leadership. Secondly, Ralph is a nice guy who has strong leadership unlike Piggy. He has a good and kind mind. He likes peace, so when he has a problem with someone like Jack, he wants to solve it by talking. He always worries about the younger kids who are afraid of being on an uninhabited island without their parents. He thinks that building many shelters to avoid the beasts, rain and be rescued as quickly as possible is the most important thing in their situation. Third, Jack is an adventurous boy. Being saved and creating safe havens are none of his business. While hunting a pig, he focuses only on hunting the pig. He always thinks that in that situation, the... paper medium... can kill. Fortunately, before Jack's group found Ralph, the children on the island were found by US marines. They said, “We saw that the boy's (Jack) group killed a boy (Piggy) in our ship using the telescope. We think the boy's group is dangerous, so they need to go to prison." As a result, Jack's group was sent to prison on the ship on which the US Navy was traveling. Ralph was sent to the US Marine general's room. He explained in detail all the experience the children went through and how Piggy was killed. However, suddenly Piggy appeared before Ralph. Ralph was so surprised. Piggy said, “Hey, I'm not dead then. I just pretended to be dead because if I had gotten up I would have actually been killed. I'm actually the son of the US Navy general. I thought my father would come here to save me. This is lucky!”
